Bidding for the pedestrian safety project along Central Avenue at the University of Memphis closes Friday. The city of Memphis is overseeing construction. The submitted bids will be reviewed, and once a bid has been selected, the Memphis City Council has to approve it. The University District is conducting a neighborhood wide yard sale from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 1. More than 50 families are participating in this event.
